Chloe Went on Strike

Recently, Chloe stopped eating the pig vitamin C and would only take Belle's human C. So now we only feed our pigs human C. Well, it did taste better... :) I love my piggies! So much that I will try their vitamin C. Is that creepy??? Give your piggies lots of love!

A Fluffy Update

The guinea pigs are still warm and fluffy! We found a trick to get Belle to eat her vitamin C every time: buy the human vitamin C from the pharmacy and cut it into 8 or 16 pieces (to get it to be 25 or 50 milligrams). We found out this worked because I tried the pig C to see if Belle might not like the taste and that was why she was rejecting it, and it tasted like chalk. We then tried the human vitamin C and she ate it like a champ. Chloe still likes the pig C though, and eats it just fine.
Today we fed the pigs watermelon, and they actually liked the rind better than the fruit! Sophie (our dog) ate the fruit for them though. ;) You should feed your pigs about 75% Timothy Hay, 20% pellets, and 5% fruits and veggies, but we probably feed our pigs more fruit than pellets. :)
Have a piggish day!

Belle and Chloe

Belle and Chloe are doing wonderfully. They are wonderful girls and they are reaching adulthood. Belle is still rejecting her vitamin C sometimes, but we found a trick. We wrap the C in a piece of lettuce or spinich and she will usually eat it right away. Just as a reminder, always weigh your pigs every week, because if they lose weight, they may be ill. Give your pigs lots of love!
